About us
What is PACA?
A volunteer powered nonprofit that has backed artists, students and local history in Pickens County since 2007.
Our story
Pickens Arts & Cultural Alliance started in 2007 with a grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts. Since then we have supported and assisted the arts and historic preservation groups already working in Pickens County, with backing from county government.
Our work shows up all over the county. ArtWalk fills Main Street in Jasper with painters, musicians and makers. Youth Art Month puts student work from local schools on the walls. Classes, concerts and community grants give artists a stage, students a first brush and neighbors a reason to gather.
Pickens County has deep roots, from its mountain communities to the marble that made it famous. We work to keep those stories alive while making room for new ones. If you would like to help, there is a place for you as a volunteer, a member or a partner.

To support arts and cultural activities in Pickens County by increasing resources for artists and cultural organizations, preserving our local heritage, and promoting economic development through arts and cultural events.
Milestones
- 2007PACA is founded with a grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts.
- 2011 and 2012PACA receives Georgia Council for the Arts project grants.
- November 2021Our first Small Business Highlight.
- December 2021Our first Student Artist of the Month.
- June 2022PACA moves into its office on Main Street in Jasper.
- September 2022Jasper hosts its very first ArtWalk.
- 2025A Vibrant Communities grant brings free marbling workshops to local kids.
- 2026ArtWalk grows into a full Saturday on Main Street.
